31st Hastings Half Marathon, Seafront, Hastings, 1.30am Come and be part of this popular test for both local, national and international runners, either as a participant or an encouraging spectator! Also a Mini Run for ages 11 – 16. Good luck to all runners! More info here.

Thursdays 5th/12th/19th/26th March 2015  7.30 – 9.30pm , ‘Spring Star Search’ 4 week course for beginners at The Observatory Science Centre. A course designed to help you recognise the constellations so you will be able to navigate your way around the night sky.  Incorporating lectures in one of the telescope domes looking at the whole sky using the naked eye (weather permitting). Cost £60, Booking Essential.

14/03/15,  7pm – 11.30pm, ‘Science of Beer, Curry Night’ at  The Observatory Science Centre An adults-only evening combining a fun science show/talk all about beer with the chance to sample some local brew! Plus a curry and a voucher to sample a free beer of your choice (soft drinks and wine are also available).  If there is good weather, there is a chance to look through the Centre’s historic telescopes, at some fascinating night-sky objects including Jupiter. 20/03/15 Centre opens early at 7.30am, The Observatory Science Centre ‘Partial Solar Eclipse’ ‘Visitors to the centre will be able to see about 86 – 90% of the Sun’s disc being eclipsed.  It will not go completely dark, but it will be very dim light. The Centre will be projecting images of the Sun and using their Solar Telescopes to observe this phenomenal event safely. NEVER LOOK DIRECTLY AT THE SUN! Cost Normal Admission Price.

09/03/15 Tales for Toddlers, the De La Warr Pavilion, Bexhill, 10.15am – 11am & 11.15am – 12pm A fun-filled session of stories, rhymes, songs and creative activities aimed at pre-school children and their parents or carers.  With Kevin Graal. This one is a ‘Ladybird Live Special’with the chance to win some fantastic prizes from Ladybird books.  No need to book, though spaces are limited. Free. More info.

13/03/15 Superworm Trail at Bedgebury Pinetum Join the children’s book character Superworm on his forest adventure! The whole family will enjoy a self-led Superworm activity trail, which should appeal to children ages 3 – 8. More info.

27/03/15 Cadbury Easter Egg Trail at Batemans 11am – 5pm Follow the Spring Bird Explorer Trail with the family, spot nests and work out who laid the eggs.  A reward of a Cadbury’s Egg Head prize for those who complete the eggy quest. Normal admission plus £2.50 per child.

31/03/15 ‘Man in the Moon’ half day workshops, The Observatory Science Centre, 10.30 – 1pm or 2pm – 4.30pm A children’s workshop to learn all about the features of the Moon through fun, interactive activities.  Make some fantastic craters and hear about the mysteries of the “Man in the Moon” £10.75 per child. 31/03/15 Meet Hello Kitty at Hello Kitty House, Drusillas Hello Kitty is visiting her home at Drusillas on several occasions through the year, visit her in her beautiful themed house and have a souvenir photo taken with the cutest girl herself.  Meet and greet opportunities will operate at intervals throughout the day.

06/03/15 ‘Elvis Night and Disco’ Hastings United FC Clubhouse 8.30pm – 11.45pm HUFC Supporters Club present ‘ELVIS – ALOHA FROM HASTINGS’ featuring one of the South East’s best Elvis tribute acts Andy T King, with a full disco afterwards. This is a free event, donations to the HUFC Supporters Club appreciated.

14/03/15 An Evening with Cripps and Saunders – Classical Vocal Duo 7pm – 9.30pm, The Emmanuel Centre, Battle  Jill Saunders (soprano) and Alison Cripps (mezzo-soprano) are performing a classical vocal recital, performing a selection of opera and arias from the early baroque, classical and romantic periods.
